The government appointed Semyon Kryvonos as the new director of NABU

Date:

At an extraordinary meeting on Monday, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Semyon Kryvonos as the new director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

“This process was preceded by a transparent competition, based on the results of which the commission, consisting, in particular, of international partners, identified three candidates for the post of NABU director. Ukraine has now fulfilled all seven EU recommendations, which were determined upon receiving candidate status. This demonstrates our determination to move to the start of accession negotiations already this year. Since the appointment of the NABU director, we also have a fully formed and independent anti-corruption infrastructure,” Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote in Telegram.

On March 4, the competitive commission selected three candidates for the post of NABU director from about 80 applications. The head of the fourth investigative department of the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Khmelnytskyi Serhii Gulyak, the head of the State Inspection of Architecture and Urban Planning Semyon Krivonos and the head of the Internal Control Department of NABU Roman Osypchuk made it to the finals.

On April 16, 2022, Artem Sytnyk was dismissed from the post of director of NABU due to the end of his seven-year term of office.
