Duda announced obstacles to the supply of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine

Date:

Polish President Andrzej Duda said that sending F-16 aircraft to Ukraine is a “very serious decision” that is “not easy to accept” due to a number of factors.

He said this in an interview BBC.

The President of Poland noted that any decision on the delivery of aircraft should be a joint decision of Ukraine’s allies, and not a decision that can be taken by any individual country.

“The problem from our point of view is different — firstly, we believe that for this in any case a decision of the allies is needed, which means that we must make a joint decision.

Also, since the F-16s require maintenance if they deploy somewhere, it’s not just the jets, it’s maintenance as well. So, it’s not just sending a few planes, a few jets,” Duda said.

He noted that sending F-16 aircraft to Poland could become a serious problem, because “we don’t have enough of them… and we will need a lot more.”

“Today, the decision to transfer any aircraft, any F-16s outside of Poland is a very serious decision, and this decision is not easy for us,” he added.
