Ukraine has improved its position in the world ranking of the influence of passports

Date:

Ukraine rose three positions in the World Passport Index and now ranks 35th.

This is evidenced by the data of the updated Passport Index from the Henley&Partners company for the first quarter of 2022.

“Ukraine rose from the 37th to the 35th place, concluding an agreement on visa-free access with the French overseas territories and Oman. Holders of a Ukrainian passport can travel without a visa or with a visa upon arrival to 141 countries of the world,” the rating authors note.

At the same time, they draw attention to the fact that the latest results of the World Passport Index show the biggest gap in visa-free travel opportunities for citizens since the index was created 17 years ago.

In particular, holders of passports from Japan and Singapore, which occupy the first place in the ranking, can now enter 192 destinations without a visa or with a visa on arrival. Germany and South Korea share second place with visa-free access to 190 countries.

At the same time, citizens of Afghanistan, which is in the last place of the index, can travel without visas to only 26 countries.

As reported, in the fourth quarter of 2021, Ukraine dropped from 37th to 38th place in the ranking through the introduction of visa on arrival with Kenya. At the same time, Ukrainian passport holders could travel without a visa or with a visa upon arrival to 136 countries of the world.
