Famous Russian artists are rappers Oxxxymiron and a musician Boris Grebenshchikov gave a charity concert in support of Ukraine.
The performance took place on Thursday, March 24 in London at Shepherd’s Bush Empire Concert Hall 2. All money received from the sale of tickets and donations will be donated to help refugees from Ukraine.
Note that the concert was held under the slogan “Russians Against War”. Many Russians were present in the hall. They all chanted “Putin fuck” and “No war”:
“This concert is evidence that Russians are against the war in large numbers. And not just against the war, but against this fucking war,” Oxxxymiron said.
From the stage, he performed his most famous hits “Beauty and ugliness”, “We will die”, “Where we are not” and others. Boris Grebenshchikov supported Myron’s initiative and performed, admittedly, a little less compositions: “Religious Ficus”, “Psalm 151”, “Golden City”.
During the evening, Russian artists managed to collect about 53 thousand dollars in support of Ukraine.
It should be noted that a week ago, the Russian rapper Oxxxymiron played a charity concert in Istanbul and collected 40,000 dollars for refugees from Ukraine. The artist openly supports Ukraine and opposes the war unleashed by the Russian authorities.
Because of the rapper’s citizenship, he was banned from performing in the Russian Federation. However, earlier Oxxxymiron himself canceled all his concerts in Russia. He explained this by the fact that he cannot speak for the Russians while the Ukrainians are suffering from the war.
In turn, at the beginning of March, the rock musician from the Russian St. Petersburg, Boris Grebenshchikov, expressed his attitude to the destructive war, which was started on the territory of Ukraine by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. In a video message, he said: “The war between Russia and Ukraine is madness. And the people who unleashed it are the shame of Russia.”
