Date:

The man did not reach the top by only 600 meters: the height of Mount Elbrus is 5,642 meters.

A Russian from the city of Tula decided to conquer the highest peak of the Caucasus – Elbrus. However, the man decided to climb in sneakers and without equipment, so he froze and died.

The body of the Russian was found at an altitude of about 5,000 meters. And this despite the fact that the height of Mount Elbrus is 5,642 meters.

37-year-old Sergey Havrikov decided to conquer the highest peak of the Caucasus, Mount Elbrus, in a very original way – in sneakers, with a small backpack and without equipment. The Russian decided that he could beat the cold at the top.

Already on the morning of March 2, information was received about the disappearance of the man. 10 rescuers with two pieces of equipment went in search of the grieving tourist. That day, due to bad weather, the search was stopped and resumed on March 3. After a 5-hour search operation, his body was found – the man froze literally 600 meters from the top of the mountain.
