Boris Krasnov died: details of the death of the famous native of Kyiv

Boris Krasnov, a famous production designer, producer and designer, died in Russia. He was 60 years old and spent the last days of his life in a Moscow hospice, in a coma.

On the night of September 7, 2021, the famous producer and artist director Boris Krasnov died. He suffered two strokes and fell ill with a coronavirus infection.

Boris Krasnov was born and raised in Ukraine

Boris Arkadyevich Krasnov (surname at birth – Reuter) was born in Kyiv on January 22, 1961. His father was the head of the “Electronmash” enterprise, and his mother was an artist and fashion designer. My grandfather died in Babyny Yar during the occupation of Kyiv.

Borys Krasnov received his education in Kyiv. First, he graduated from school No. 80, then from the Kyiv State Art Institute. He started working as a student, in the Kyiv pantomime theater. After the success of the first play “Romeo and Juliet”, he first took a pseudonym, and then changed his name officially.

In the 1980s, he worked in various Kyiv theaters as a production designer, chief artist and costume designer. In 1987, he received the State Prize of Ukraine named after T.G. Shevchenko for designing the performance “So we will win.”

In the late 1980s, he went to Moscow for an internship and became the chief artist at “Lenkom” under the leadership of Oleksandr Abdulov. In 1992, he created his own company “Krasnov Design” in Russia.

Since 2000, he has been a production designer of the State Kremlin Palace.

In 2011, Boris Krasnov started having problems, first with the law, and then with his health. He was detained on suspicion of extortion and attempted raiding of a company specializing in the organization of exhibitions. In September, he had his first stroke. He was released on bail and transferred to one of the hospitals in Switzerland, where he underwent a complex operation on the brain.

For several years, Krasnov recovered, and the criminal case against him was closed due to the lack of a crime. In 2015, he returned to his activities, despite physical limitations after an illness.

In August 2021, after contracting the coronavirus, Krasnov suffered a second stroke. After the impact, the artist completely lost the right side of his body, and doctors diagnosed 85% brain damage. Krasnov was taken to a hospice, and doctors said that there were practically no chances of recovery. The artist spent the last days in a coma.

What was Boris Krasnov famous for?

During his creative career, Krasnov carried out more than 3,500 projects – concerts, TV programs, competitions, festivals, solemn ceremonies.

He worked with almost all the stars of show business: Lyudmila Gurchenko, Alla Pugacheva, Valery Leontyev, Philip Kirkorov, Laima Vaikule, Larisa Dolina, Iryna Allegrova, Valery Meladze, Alexander Rosenbaum and others.

From foreign stars: Elton John, Eros Ramazotti, Sarah Brightman, Chris Norman, Al Bano, Gipsy Kings and Deep Purple, Modern Talking, Abba and others.

He has many awards and prizes. He received the first one in Ukraine, all others in Russia and at international exhibitions.
