A portal to Antarctica has appeared in London

Date:

Greenpeace UK has installed a portal to Antarctica in Trafalgar Square in London.

It shows life on the mainland as a real-time, writes press service of the organization.

The four-meter structure broadcasts live the colony of Gentoo penguins, which was discovered last week by an international team of expeditioners.

They were found much further south than before. Researchers believe that the geography of animals has been affected by climate change.

Also, with the help of the initiative, Greenpeace draws the attention of the public to the protection of the oceans, especially the Southern Ocean.portal to Antarctica

“This portal is a reminder of what we stand to lose if we don’t protect our oceans. We need urgent action on climate change,” said Louise Casson, Greenpeace UK Ocean Campaigner.
