Another 90 of our people returned home from Russian captivity – Zelenskyi

Date:

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi on his Telegram channel on Tuesday evening reported about another exchange of prisoners from the Russian Federation with the assistance of the UAE, as a result of which another 90 Ukrainians returned to Ukraine.

“Home is not just words. Home is Ukraine. Today, another 90 of our people returned home from Russian captivity,” the president wrote, noting that among them are soldiers of the National Guard, Navy, Armed Forces, territorial defense fighters and border guards.

“Those who defended Mariupol. Those who defended the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Those who were on the Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia and Luhansk directions,” he added.

As Zelensky emphasized, “we remember all our people in Russian captivity. We continue our work to liberate each and every one. We are looking for the truth about everyone who can be held by the enemy.”

The head of state expressed his gratitude to the entire Ukrainian team that takes care of exchanges, as well as to all partners who help, in particular, the United Arab Emirates for assisting in this release of Ukrainians.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also reported that 90 of their servicemen had also returned to Russia.

At the same time, according to the Ukrainian Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, “in particular, 32 National Guardsmen, 18 border guards, 17 representatives of the Naval Forces, 15 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 8 soldiers of the Teroboron returned.”

“In particular, it was possible to return 59 defenders of Mariupol, including 52 fighters who left “Azovstal”. 5 National Guardsmen guarding the Chernobyl nuclear power plant have been released from captivity,” – said in the message of the Coordination Headquarters, published in the Telegram channel.
