During the conversation between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and US presidential candidate Donald Trump, the possibility of Trump’s visit to Ukraine was discussed, but it is too early to talk about specifics, Zelenskyi’s press secretary Serhiy Nikiforov said on the air of the telethon.
“Let’s put it this way: both parties agreed in principle to the meeting. Certain time intervals were discussed when this meeting should take place. But it is still very, very early to talk about it. The teams will work and agree on schedules and details when possible,” – said Nikiforov.
When asked whether the possibility of Trump’s visit to Ukraine was discussed, he replied that “it was indeed discussed. It is important to emphasize this. (Discussed – IF-U) when and where it should take place. But the specifics are still very premature – both the format, and the time, and the place.”
Zelenskyi’s press secretary also said that the parties discussed yesterday’s attack by the Russian army on Mykolaiv and the July 8 attack on the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital. At the same time, Zelensky urged Trump not to believe the representatives of those countries who are trying to justify Putin’s actions. “Of course, there are no excuses here. He is an ordinary murderer, the president said so in a telephone conversation,” Nikiforov said.
For his part, according to Nikiforov, “Trump also said a very interesting thing: he said not to believe fake news, that his election victory could be beneficial to Russia.”
As reported, during a telephone conversation on Saturday night, Trump promised Zelensky to reconcile Ukraine and the Russian Federation and make peace after his election as the US president.
