The SBU detained an FSB agent who tried to burn down the TCC building in the Vinnytsia region

Date:

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police detained an agent of the Russian FSB in Vinnytsia, who tried to burn down one of the administrative buildings of the TCC (territorial procurement center, former Military Commissariat) in the region.

“Counterintelligence officers of the SBU arrested the attacker in hot pursuit after he threw a Molotov cocktail at the wall of the Military Commissariat and filmed the fire on his own phone camera”, – informs the press service of the SBU in the Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, the suspect was a 17-year-old resident of Odesa, who came to the attention of the FSB in the spring of this year due to his search for quick earnings on the Internet. On one of these sites, a young man posted his resume, which was answered by a representative of the Russian special service.

For money, he offered the man from Odesa to set fire to military infrastructure facilities and cars of Ukrainian defenders. After the “test” tasks in the form of photographing the locations of the Defense Forces in the port city, the occupiers “sent” their accomplice to Vinnytsia.

There, the saboteur was supposed to set fire to the TCC building. After this task, the saboteur planned to continue a series of arson attacks on the territory of Zhytomyr.

During the searches, a self-made incendiary mixture and a mobile phone, which he used to film the crime and communicate with the aggressor, were seized from the suspect.

On the basis of the collected evidence, the SBU investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sabotage committed under martial law).

The perpetrator is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
