With twelve awards, Ukraine took 21st place in the medal tally of the 2024 Olympics

On the fifteenth day of the XXIII Olympic Games in Paris, representatives of the national team of Ukraine competed in eight sports. Iryna Kolyadenko replenished Ukraine’s medal fund with silver, informs The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine in the Telegram channel.

In the medal count, with twelve awards (3, 5, 4), Ukraine occupies 21st position.

The results of the competition day are also published.

Women’s wrestling (weight category up to 62 kg): Iryna Kolyadenko won the silver award, losing in the final to the Japanese Sakura Motoki (1:12)

Freestyle wrestling: Oleksandr Khotsyanovskyi took 16th place in the weight category up to 125 kg, failing to defeat the Pole Robert Barana in the first bout of the consolation bracket. Murazi Mchedlidze in the weight category up to 97 kg in the 1/8 finals defeated the bronze medalist of the last two world championships Ibrahim Chifchi from Turkey (5:1), but lost in the 1/4s to the Georgian Givi Macharashvili (0:11). The latter’s exit to the final allowed the Ukrainian to continue the fight for bronze

Athletics: Oleg Doroshchuk finished the high jump final with a personal record of 2 m 31 cm in sixth place

Artistic swimming (duets): Maryna Aleksiyeva and Vladyslava Aleksiyeva, scoring a total of 538.6684 points for the technical and free program, took fifth place

Diving (10m platform): Oleksii Sereda took eighth place in the final with a total of 426.90 points

Rhythmic gymnastics (groups, all-around): the Ukrainian team consisting of Diana Baeva, Alina Melnyk, Valeriya Peremeta, Kira Shirikina and Maria Vysochanska finished the final competition in seventh place, having scored 65.700 points after two exercises

Kayaking and canoeing: Maria Povh, who finished sixth in her semi-final race in the 500m single sculls, advanced to the C final, where she finished eighth. Lyudmila Luzan and Anastasia Rybachok in the 200m single canoe took seventh and eighth places, respectively, in their semi-final heats and advanced to final B. Anastasia finished sixth. Lyudmila did not start

Modern pentathlon: Valeriya Permykina took 10th place in semifinal B, stopping one step away from reaching the final

Breaking: Oleg “Kuzya” Kuznetsov placed third in his group, taking three rounds (29 votes) and failing to advance to the quarterfinals

On August 11, the final day of the Games, Ukrainians will compete in one sport.
