The power system managed to avoid a blackout due to the attack of the Russian Federation – the first deputy head of the Council’s energy committee

Date:

The unified energy system of Ukraine has preserved its integrity after the massive attack of the Russian Federation, despite the tangible defeat of some energy facilities, said Oleksiy Kucherenko, the first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing.

“There were very unpleasant damage to objects that could cause a blackout. This did not happen – the country’s unified energy system preserved its integrity. The restoration and strengthening of ties is in progress”, – wrote Kucherenko on his Facebook page on Monday.

At the same time, he urged consumers to remain calm and wait for official information from NEC “Ukrenergo” about the situation in the energy system.

As reported, the adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, a member of the supervisory board of NEC “Ukrenergo” Yuriy Boyko explained emergency power outages across the country as preventive measures to maintain the balance of the energy system, as well as damage to energy equipment in a number of regions. At the same time, he noted that during the attack there were restrictions on power output from power plants, in particular nuclear ones.

“Sumyoblenergo” also reported on numerous damages to power equipment. There, 213 settlements were left without electricity due to the attack, and taking into account the emergency shutdowns, almost a quarter of a million consumers.

As a result of the enemy’s early morning attack on an energy facility in the Rivne region, more than 30,000 consumers in 48 settlements were cut off.
