Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal declares that Ukraine’s accession to the European Union should be an integral part of a just peace.
“We want to be ready by the end of 2025 at the latest accession to the EU. But in general, strategically, we understand that our accession to the EU should be an integral part of a just peace. This is our strategic goal,” Shmyhal said at a press conference on Tuesday in Kyiv.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this should be preceded by the titanic work of bringing the legislation of Ukraine to the standards of the European Union.
Shmyhal stated that all political decisions necessary for today have been made, and currently Ukraine does not need any other political decisions that could be blocked by any of the partners.
The Prime Minister noted that the most responsible for Ukraine today is the opening of the negotiation chapters (six clusters, 35 chapters). In particular, it is planned to open all 35 sections by the end of the first half of 2025.
