The Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA urges to keep the focus on the main thing – more weapons and aid to Ukraine and more sanctions and isolation of the Russian Federation

Date:

The Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA, Oksana Markarova, in connection with the latest publications in the media, urges to keep the focus on the main thing and not to be distracted by secondary things, which may turn out to be information operations and even just provocations.

“As in 2022, there is no other recipe for Ukrainian victory now than more weapons and aid for Ukraine, and more sanctions and isolation for Russia,” – wrote she is on facebook.

Markarova did not specify which specific publications she meant, but noted that from time to time analysts and media waves, sometimes reprinting or picking up on each other, create false dichotomies or multiple choices, which may be interesting from the point of view of analytics and intellectual exercises, but not when the fate and existence of Ukraine depends on these things.

“And in some places they are diametrically opposed to what is really being discussed officially. But, as they say behind the scenes, “if the stars light up, it means someone needs it,” the ambassador added.

She emphasized that the Ukrainian peace formula, victory plans, security compact, and other initiatives of Ukraine are based on the prescription she mentioned above, the UN charter, and international treaties.

“I check all outside ideas with these two categories. If what is discussed by experts in the public sphere diverts attention from it or relaxes our partners, or brings discord between us and partners – then these are ideas not for our victory, and therefore, it is not something on which attention should be focused”, – Markarova noted.

According to her, on the contrary, it is necessary to redouble efforts to inform partners that only more weapons and aid for Ukraine, and only more sanctions and isolation for the aggressor, will bring them closer to a sustainable and just peace.

“The military has a clear definition for this – to stay the course,” concluded the ambassador of Ukraine to the USA.

As reported, recently a number of authoritative world media have published articles devoted to possible options for ending the war in Ukraine in view of the current difficulties on the battlefield and the political situation in the world. In particular, they voiced options for providing Ukraine with NATO membership or other security guarantees, but without a number of territories occupied by Russia.
