Zelensky: Already on October 27-28, the first North Korean military will be used by Russia in combat zones

Date:

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on the situation at the front, as well as on Russia’s involvement of troops from the DPRK, as early as October 27-28, the first North Korean troops will be used by the Russian Federation in combat zones, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said.

“Report of the head of the Syrskyi Committee. The situation at the front now, special attention – to the Pokrov, Kurakhiv and Liman areas… He also reported on Russia’s involvement of troops from North Korea. According to intelligence information, on October 27-28, the first North Korean military will be deployed by Russia in combat zones. This is an obvious escalating step by Russia, which is significant, in contrast to all the disinformation that has been heard a lot in Kazan these days,” – Zelensky wrote in the Telegram channel on Friday.

The president emphasized that the world can clearly see that the Russian Federation actually wants to continue the war, so a principled and strong reaction by world leaders is needed.

“The actual involvement of North Korea in hostilities should not be met with closed eyes and confused comments, but with tangible pressure on both Moscow and Pyongyang to comply with the UN Charter and punish escalation,” Zelenskyi said.

He also said that it is “difficult” at the front in Donetsk region, but the combat brigades are holding their positions and doing everything possible to destroy the enemy.

Separately, Syrskyi also reported on the Kursk operation.

“The buffer zone on Russian territory protects Ukraine from Russian attempts to expand the war in the east of our country and ensures significant Russian losses. The commander-in-chief reported on the performance of tasks by our units in certain areas of the Kursk region,” the head of state said.
