A lawyer from the Lviv region looked at two wives of servicemen, one of whom he promised to find a missing man, but did nothing, and another undertook to help with the payment of financial assistance provided by law in connection with the death of the husband.
“The lawyer assured women that he has enough experience and relationships and can help them. Using the depressed condition of the victims, he exposed more than 1 million UAH. In addition, the suspect intended to receive another million as a non-existent debt for services that he did not plan to provide, ”the press service of the Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Western Region reports on Tuesday.
Upon receipt of part of the lawyer’s funds, it was detained and informed of suspected fraud in the face of martial law (Part 4 of Article 190, Part 2 of Article 15 of Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He chose a pre -trial detention measure with the right to make bail. Its involvement in similar schemes is checked.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR), “one of the victims of the fraudster was a resident of Lviv region, in which a man was killed in Donetsk during the fighting; She with cancer left alone with four children. ” “The lawyer convinced Udova that with the receipt of financial assistance from the state could be difficult and offered 30% of the amount of help to” negotiate “with the necessary people in Kiev. The attacker was well aware that the help of a woman would still be appointed and decided to make money on her, ” – said in a message on the website of the department.
In addition to money for “people in Kiev”, the lawyer also took every month for his services UAH 25 thousand. He met with the victim in restaurants, where she “rested” for several thousand hryvnias. He also suggested a woman to make a will so that in the event of her death, the children would not quarrel because of money.
In order to hide his unlawful activity, the lawyer ordered the victim to open the bank account and send him a card with a PIN code. Then the attacker removed about 800 thousand hryvnias from the card. The funds were shot independently or attached to that of his loved ones. After removing the next amount, it was detained by DBR employees.
Another resident of the Lviv region became the victim of the fraudster.
“Her husband disappeared during the battles in Luhansk region. The lawyer assured that he would be able to help her find the missing. He stated that he has the appropriate connections and will be able to search in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, and even in the Russian Federation. The attacker persuaded the search for the life of a man as soon as possible. For these pseudo -servants, he sobbed 460 thousand UAH in the woman, after which he changed the phone number, ”the message reads.
Currently, DBR employees are installing other victims. According to the investigation, the fraudster offered his services in various military units.
The issue of seizure on the property of the person involved – an apartment in the center of Lviv and two cars is resolved.
