Mobile medical crews of the Ukrainian Red Cross (UHF) have been provided by more than 1 million 200 thousand medical services to the population since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine.

Mobile medical crews are teams of professionals, including family doctors, nurses and drivers who go to communities where access to medical services is limited or absent. Their goal is to ensure the availability of primary care services, including blood pressure, blood glucose levels, saturation, and if necessary, to issue urgently needed over -acting medicines or to direct patients to specialists.

“Mobile medical crews are not a regular medical service. Their mission is the support of the state in providing medical services to the population, which was injured from the war, ”said the Director General of the UHF Maxim Dotsenko.

Since February 2022, MMB has been actively working in all regions, especially in places where the number of internally displaced persons has increased significantly.

In the summer of 2023, the MMB participated in the elimination of the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region – the brigades immediately went to the flooded settlements to provide medical and psychological assistance to the victims.

In addition, a permanent mobile medical brigade was established in the Kherson region in July 2024 in the Odessa region in June 2024. A multidisciplinary brigade, which works with a focus on rehabilitation and psychosocial support for children with developmental characteristics, began to operate.

Graphs and routes of mobile medical brigades are formed in cooperation with the chief physicians of primary health care centers and take into account the needs of the communities. In advance, local outpatient clinics and paramedics inform the visits.
