Rutte: NATO stands with Ukraine, our devotion is specific and visible

Date:

NATO support for the Ukrainian fight against Russian aggression remains adamant, said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Odessa.

“NATO stands with Ukraine. You and I know it was true and continues to be true. And I know that in the last few months there have been questions to NATO support, but let me say that our support is undeniable. NATO continues to provide politically other types of assistance to Ukraine through security training in Visbaden. Rutte.

He noted that in the first three months of 2025, NATO partners had already provided more than 20 billion euros to help Ukraine.

“Our devotion is specific and visible. You also see further deposits of our partners, as stated at Ramstay’s meeting on Friday. We want to make sure that Ukraine will be sovereign and strong, which will be able to defend ourselves today, and to resist any future aggression. These are all of our conditions,”

He stressed that NATO member states support US President Donald Trump’s efforts to negotiate with Ukraine and Russia to ceasefire.

“Our partners from the United Kingdom and France are also taking their steps to ensure peace in Ukraine when the time comes. So let me tell people of Ukraine, the people of Ukraine, we stand with you. And we are waiting for the day when the bold people of this incredible country will be able to enjoy freedom without fear.”
