The beginning of the exchange of bodies of dead between Ukraine and the Russian Federation is scheduled for the next week, said the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence Kirill Budanov.
“The start of repatriation measures as a result of negotiations in Istanbul is scheduled for the next week, which authorized persons were informed on Tuesday. Everything is moving according to the plan, despite the dirty information game of the enemy,” – He wrote in Gur telegram Sunday.
Budanov stressed that “Ukraine faces information pressure and attempts to dictate the parameters of the exchange process individually. We carefully follow the agreements reached in Istanbul. Who, when and how to change – should not be someone’s sole decision.
According to him, “the attempts of some Russian propagandists are particularly cynical to speculate on the human mountain, to which they themselves are involved. Moreover, on the great holiday of the Trinity, which we celebrate today.”
“The coordination headquarters is working hard on the organization that is based on the agreements reached. And all our defenders and defenders, as well as civilians, must return home,” – assured Budanov.
In Russia, they stated that they had delivered some of the bodies of the dead of the Armed Forces to the area of exchange. In the morning, a representative of the Russian negotiation group Alexander Zorin stated that 1212 bodies of Ukrainian servicemen were taken to the exchange area. According to him, there were “signals that the transfer of bodies would be postponed next week.”
According to Zorin, “there are signals that the transfer of bodies will be postponed for the next week” and that Russia is “waiting for confirmation” from Ukraine.
The day before, the assistant of Russian President Vladimir Medinsky, who headed the Russian delegation at a meeting in Istanbul, said that the Ukrainian side “unexpectedly postponed indefinitely both the reception of bodies and the exchange of prisoners of war.”
In response, the coordination headquarters on the treatment of prisoners of war stated that the date of repatriation of the bodies of the dead Ukrainian military was not agreed. The Center accused the Russian side of manipulations and called on to “stop dirty games.”
Delegations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation on June 2 agreed in Istanbul on new exchanges of prisoners. According to the Minister of Defense of Rustem Umerov, there is an agreement to focus on specific categories, not on numbers: about the exchange of “all of all” severely wounded and seriously ill -made prisoners of war, the second category is young soldiers who are 18 to 25 years old. There was also an agreement on the return of 6,000 bodies of dead soldiers.
