A recipe for making delicious orange wine

Orange wine – a fragrant alcoholic drink that will not only decorate your festive table with its appearance, but will also become a favorite drink for your girlfriends. This wine is very easy to drink and gives an unforgettable aromatic bouquet of citrus fruits. It is prepared simply and does not require any special processing. Try to make this wine at least once, and it will forever become one of your favorites at festive events.

Ingredients for making orange wine:

  1. A large orange – 3 pieces
  2. A medium-sized lemon – 1/2 part
  3. Dry white wine – 2 liters
  4. Vodka – 0.4 liters
  5. Refined sugar – 400 grams

  8. Kitchen sponge for washing dishes
  9. Sieve

Preparation of orange wine:

Step 1: prepare oranges.

Wash the oranges under running water and put them in a deep bowl. We pour boiling water over the citrus fruits in order to remove the bitterness from the peel, as well as to destroy the microbes that can cause the wine to ferment. After that, put the oranges on a cutting board and, using a knife, cut them in half.

We squeeze the juice out of each orange part, but do not throw away the peel, we will still need it.


Step 2: prepare lemon.

In the same way as oranges, lemons are washed under running water and poured with boiling water. We squeeze the juice from the citrus, using the same juicer. WARNING: we also do not throw away the lemon peel, as it will also be useful to us.


Step 3: prepare the jar.

In order for the wine not to ferment, it is very important to use only clean containers. Therefore, wash the can well under running warm water, using a kitchen sponge for washing dishes. You can also use baking soda for cleaning, and then pour hot water over the container, but in no case boiling water, so that the can does not burst. We do the same procedure with the kapron cover.


Step 4: prepare orange wine.

Pour wine and vodka into a glass jar, as well as freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice. Here we add citrus peels and sugar cubes and mix everything thoroughly with a tablespoon. Close the jar tightly with a lid and put it in a dark, cool place to infuse 6 weeks. After the allotted time, we take out the jar, and strain the wine through cheesecloth, which we put in a sieve.

WARNING: gauze must be folded in several layers and the alcoholic drink must be strained into a deep bowl. This will remove the sediment and possible pulp from oranges and lemons. Now we pour orange wine through a kitchen sink into a wine bottle and put it to cool in the refrigerator.


Step 5: serve orange wine.

When the wine cools down, pour part of it through a decanter into a decanter and serve the drink to the table. We pour wine into glasses and enjoy this aromatic drink together with fruit and chocolate.

Advice:

– If sediment remains at the bottom of the wine bottle, then the wine must be poured into the decanter with extreme care so that all the sediment remains in the bottle.

– Such wine can be stored for several years. Only in this case it is necessary to keep it in a container with a well-closed lid so that the drink does not start to ferment.

– It is not necessary to insist the wine for 6 weeks, as the drink is basically ready for the next day. It’s just that the longer it is infused, the tastier it will be.

– For the preparation of orange wine, it is necessary to use only refined sugar, since compared to ordinary white sugar, it is much cleaner and there are more chances that the wine will not spoil.
