The Security Service gathered indisputable evidence of the guilt of three more members of the terrorist organization “DNR”, who took an active part in combat operations against the Defense Forces.
At the beginning of the full-scale aggression, they voluntarily joined the ranks of the occupation groups of the Southern Military District of the aggressor country.
Militants were captured by Ukrainian defenders during clashes in the areas of Novobakhmutivka and Pisok in Donetsk region.
According to the SBU materials, the court sentenced them to 8 to 10 years in prison.
According to the investigation, all of them are local residents who in 2014-2015 joined the ranks of terrorist groups in eastern Ukraine, where they fought against the ATO forces.
After February 24 of this year, together with the aggressor, they took an active part in storming populated areas in the Donetsk direction.
One of the fighters was part of the enemy special forces regiment “Oplot”. While in the “position” of a machine gunner, he shelled the positions of Ukrainian troops in the Dokuchaevsk and Yasne villages.
The other two perpetrators were in the ranks of the occupation units “Kalmius” and “100 motorized rifle brigade” of the 1st army corps “DNR” of the Russian Federation.
In August, they were sent to the Pisok district to set up firing positions and seize transport infrastructure facilities.
Based on the collected evidence, the court found the militants guilty of:
- Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine);
- Art. 258-3 (participation in a terrorist organization);
- Art. 260 (participation in the activities of armed groups not provided for by law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The Security Service emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against the state security of Ukraine.
The investigation was conducted by SBU employees of Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.
