Do you want to please your loved ones with your culinary masterpieces, but can’t decide on the choice of dish? We offer a very tasty option – duck breast with orange sauce. The name alone whets the appetite, while preparing such a duck is quite simple, but it looks spectacular on the table, creating a festive mood.
- Duck (breasts) – 4 pcs
- Oranges – 2 pcs
- Dry white wine – 150 ml
- Lemon – 1/2 pc
- Ground ginger root – 1/4 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Vegetable oil
- Frying pan
- Cutting board
- napkins or kitchen paper towels
Step 1: Prepare the duck.
We wash the duck breasts under cold running water, put them on a cutting board and cut off the excess fat, as well as remove (if any) small feathers.
Then we turn on medium heat on the stove and transfer the duck breasts, meat side down, to the pan. The pan should be such that you can put it in the oven, that is, without wooden handles. Fry the meat on both sides throughout 15-20 minutes or until a beautiful ruddy crust forms.
Step 2: Prepare the orange sauce.
While the breasts are being fried, prepare the orange juice. Therefore, we thoroughly wash the oranges under running water, wipe them with napkins or paper kitchen towels and put them on a cutting board. With a sharp knife, cut the citrus fruits into large pieces directly with the peel.
Transfer to a pan.
Pour white dry wine.
Add ground ginger root.
Salt to taste.
Wash the lemon under running water, cut it in half on a cutting board and squeeze the juice from each half into a saucepan.
We turn on a small fire on the stove, mix everything with a kitchen spatula, bring to a boil and cook 10-15 minutes.
Step 3: Bake the dish.
As soon as the duck is covered with a beautiful ruddy crust. We take a sieve for flour or a colander and pour our citrus sauce into the pan through it. Then cut each breast crosswise into several pieces. The remaining orange slices can be left to decorate the finished dish.
We heat the oven until 180 degrees, put the pan on a baking sheet and put it in a hot oven. Bake the duck breasts for a while 10-15 minutes to complete readiness.
Step 4: Serve duck breast with orange sauce.
Transfer the duck breasts to a beautiful serving plate, pour orange sauce, decorate with pieces and serve hot for the second time. Vegetable salads are best suited as a side dish. Everything, our tasty and aromatic dish is ready, it’s time to try it!
– If you don’t have dry white wine, substitute it with good grape juice.
