The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Hungary, Dora Duro, said that Ukraine’s accession to NATO without major security risks is possible only if such a step is approved by Russia in the form of an agreement.
Duro, a representative of the far-right Hungarian party “Our Motherland”, said in an interview, “Izvestia“, reports “European Truth”.
Duro said that “we do not see any circumstances that would allow us to support the expansion of NATO at the expense of Ukraine.”
“As long as Ukraine’s borders are contested and the armed conflict continues, even NATO’s own rules exclude Kyiv from joining the Alliance,” she said.
Then she put forward a condition for Ukraine’s accession to NATO, which, according to her, must be Russia’s consent.
