The head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Gaidai, is resigning. UA2DAY learned about this from its own sources. The head of the OVA can announce his decision tomorrow.
Gaidai’s resignation is connected with his appointment as ambassador to Kazakhstan. According to well-informed sources, Kazakhstan should provide an agreement for the appointment of a new ambassador already after holding extraordinary parliamentary elections, which are scheduled for March 19.
According to sources, the Office of the President is considering several candidates for Gaidai’s place among the military.
It will be recalled that the information about the transfer of Serhii Gaidai as ambassador to Kazakhstan appeared at the beginning of 2023. He himself did not confirm this information, but noted that he is “ready to work wherever the president sends him.” Kazakhstan is an important country for the development of relations because it has oil, gas, weapons and is profitable from the point of view of investment. It is known that the Russians actively opposed Gaidai’s appointment.
It is also known that the People’s Deputy from “Servant of the People” Maksym Tkachenko was considered for the position of the new head of the Luhansk OVA.
