The delegation of the non-governmental organization Help to Ukraine met with representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The Spanish side was represented by a member of the Spanish Congress and a member of the NATO Assembly, Miguel Ángel Gutierrez Vivas, and the founders of Help to Ukraine, Carlos Fernández and Javier Fernández Vitoria, who consider it necessary to help Ukraine in these difficult times, share the values of Ukrainians and involve Spanish citizens for this. Mr. Santiago Saura, head and coordinator of international cooperation of the Madrid City Hall, also joined the meeting via video conference, who testified to the full support of the people of Ukraine.

The meeting discussed expanding the geography of the use of telemedicine equipment and increasing its number in Ukraine.

Thus, representatives of Help to Ukraine plan to involve in telemedicine projects the medical institutions of the 4 regions that were most affected by the war, and bring the total number of robots to 200. The deployment and technical support of the use of the HomeDoctor telemedicine platform by medical institutions of Ukraine is carried out with the support of the USAID Project “Sustainable development of national health care systems”.

“Ukraine has chosen the path of developing digital health care, has its own unique electronic health care system that covers the entire industry,” comments Maria Karchevych, Deputy Minister of Health for Digital Development. — The Ministry of Health considers telemedicine as a powerful tool for improving the quality and availability of medical care for our citizens, especially in conditions of military aggression and especially in regions that have suffered terrible destruction, where there is a shortage of medical workers and a destroyed medical infrastructure. We are actively studying the unique experience of Spain in the development of digital health care and the implementation of telemedicine and actively communicate with institutions implementing telemedicine solutions. We are sincerely grateful for your help for the citizens of Ukraine!”

Already, telemedicine robots are being used to provide consultations to patients, especially in places where the medical infrastructure is damaged and there is a shortage of medical professionals.

We will remind, telemedicine tablets received medical institutions of Balaklia.

The deployment and technical support of the use of the HomeDoctor telemedicine platform by the Health Care Centers of Ukraine is supported by the USAID|LHSS project.
