On April 15, the capital’s children’s railway will open the 70th season of train traffic, passenger transportation and educational and production practice.
Already this month, everyone is invited to take a trip through Syretskyi Park.
You can also visit the Museum of the History of the South-Western Railway and exhibitions of retro narrow-gauge railway equipment.
Train movement is carried out:
— April, May, September, October — on weekends.
— June, July, August: from Thursday to Sunday;

Five years ago, a large-scale reconstruction of the children’s railway began, and after the restoration, the length of the children’s railway route is now 6.7 km. There are also two stations – “Kyiv – Passenger – Children’s” and “Zaliznychna”.
Small passengers are transported by three locomotives – diesel locomotives TU7A, steam locomotive Gr-336 – the only operating steam locomotive among children’s railways of Ukraine, there are also 12 passenger and 2 freight cars.
On the Kyiv Children’s Railway, despite the wartime, they did not stop training. Railway workers found an opportunity to provide young railway workers with a full-fledged educational process: in 2022, more than a thousand children studied.
Everything planned was accomplished, three production practices were conducted, and a record result was obtained: out of 154 graduates of the Kyiv Children’s Railway, 114 entered educational institutions of the railway profile last summer. This year, training began on February 4.
