In Ukraine, the development of a project for the reuse of a typical hospital has begun

Date:

The Integrated Hospital Design Alliance (IHDA) together with the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine ( KBU), the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories (Ministry of Reconstruction) have started the development of a project for the reuse of a typical hospital, the press service of the KBU reported to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

As Oleksandr Chervak, executive director of KBU, said, Finnish partners were involved in this project thanks to their extensive expertise in the field.

“In Finland, our alliance brings together leaders in all areas of healthcare infrastructure development: from analysis, architecture and design to the mechanics of electrical solutions and lighting, modern project management and digital solutions,” said IHDA representative Jukka Vasara. .

For the transparency of the process, the project observers are representatives of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

“On October 2 in Kyiv, representatives of all parties: IHDA, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Rehabilitation, IFRC – during a working meeting at the KBU discussed the details of the project. The partners got acquainted with the information necessary for further cooperation, discussed design features, regulatory bases for proper design of health care facilities, technical and medical tasks for design. We also touched on the legal aspects of cooperation separately,” said Chervak.

The result of cooperation should be a modern, high-tech, innovative project for the reuse of a typical hospital, which will pass an examination and then be entered into the Unified State Electronic System in the Construction Sector (EDESSB) and will be available for free use during construction with budget or donor funds. This will make it possible to save time and budget money for the development of such projects in the future.

After the completion of this project, the next stage of cooperation will be the construction of a pilot healthcare facility in Ukraine.
