Unable to find the latest F-35 fighter jet in the US, the military is asking the public for help in the search.
A plane disappeared Sunday over South Carolina, the Marine Corps pilot ejected safely over Charleston in the afternoon after an “accident,” the military said. The search for his missing plane is now focused on two lakes north of Charleston.
A spokesman for Joint Base Charleston says the plane was put on autopilot before the pilot ejected.
An army source told the BBC that information about the incident was still “limited” and that efforts were being made to gather more information about what happened.
Everyone who saw the plane is asked to call the military phone, in connection with which many jokes appeared on the network. “Turn on the search system on the iPhone,” users write.
