Intelligence agencies believe that Russia no longer has the capacity for sustained missile attacks.
The Ministry of Defense believes that a year of full-scale war completely destroyed the world community’s faith in the power of the Russian defense-industrial complex.
Theoretically, they can produce a prototype or two of a medium-range strategic weapon or an operational-tactical missile weapon. After all, when they mention such things, they usually talk about ballistic missiles with a launch range of five thousand kilometers, appeals attention Kyrylo Budanov, head of the State Government in an interview with the publication “Ukrainian Pravda”.
“Well, theoretically they can produce one or two. And what’s next? If we enter into a similar arms race, Russia does not even have a theoretical chance to compete with the West. Now they can’t satisfy their armed forces with conventional weapons – where are we going to get high-tech ones?” Budanov emphasizes.
The leader of the Russian Federation loves symbolism, everyone is wondering whether there will be an armed provocation on February 23 or 24, the anniversary of the “special operation”.
According to Budanov, nothing special should be expected.
“Let’s go like this: nothing unusual will happen. Usual efforts… A small missile strike is planned,” he says.
And he adds: “23-24 – they have two dates. Believe me, we have experienced this more than 20 times already.”
Budanov also gave details about what was used to attack Kyiv on January 14, 2023, when the “air alarm” signal did not sound before the explosion.
“It was an experimental rocket launch. As far as I remember, this is the 48Н6DM of the launch S300. They were located in the Bryansk region and it was one of the first recorded such experimental launches. I emphasize that these are exploratory launches,” said the head of GUR.
By the way, the 48N6DM of the S300 launcher, a missile with a target range of up to 250 km and a speed of 2.5 km/second.
Can there be many such launches?
“As of now, no. This is the problem of the Russian Federation — they, like many other post-Soviet countries, cannot produce weapons samples in sufficient quantities. Artificial specimens – please. But the series is difficult,” Budanov assured.
According to him, there is, in fact, only the body, the explosive substance, and the software. Everything else was definitely not produced in Russia, but received under the “parallel import” program, parallel import, which is, in fact, legalized smuggling.
