Poland will insure investors who are ready to work in Ukraine

Date:

Polish President Andrzej Duda signed an amendment to the law on export insurance guaranteed by the State Treasury. This document also provides insurance guarantees to Polish businesses that are ready to invest in Ukraine.

About this informs press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

The law makes it possible to insure Polish branches of foreign companies on a par with local companies. For Ukrainian companies, this is an opportunity to expand business in Poland on better terms.

“This is the first such comprehensive insurance tool that supports investments and activities of Polish companies in Ukraine. We hope that this important step of Poland will be an impetus for the insurance market and other states to more actively provide guarantees to companies operating in Ukraine,” said First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.

Among the new solutions is reinsurance by other insurers. In cases where the risk is above average or where it is not possible to obtain reinsurance on the commercial market.

We will remind that the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine expects growth GDP in 2023 by 4%, which is higher than the forecast of the NBU at the level of 2.9%.

Meanwhile, the World Bank predicts a decrease in Russian GDP by 0.2% in 2023. This estimate remained unchanged against the organization’s April forecast. In January, economists predicted a 3.3% drop in the Russian economy. In 2024, Russia’s GDP may grow by 1.2 percent, in 2025 – by 0.8 percent, the financial organization notes.

Germany previously plans to allocate EUR 5 billion in aid to Ukraine annually.
