The State Enterprise “Medical Procurement of Ukraine” (MZU) plans to close the entire range of purchases for the 2024 budget in August-October, its general director Edem Adamanov said.
“For the second half of the current year, we have more complex purchases left, mostly equipment. We are actively preparing to close the entire range in August-October,” he said in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
The CEO clarified that, in particular, SE “MZU” plans to purchase large equipment for children’s cardiology, as well as cyclotrons with laboratories for the synthesis of radiopharmaceuticals for the amount of more than UAH 1 billion as part of the project to create nuclear medicine centers for cancer diagnosis.
As part of this project, the state enterprise will purchase PET-CT scanners for nuclear medicine centers in 2025.
“Currently, there are only 3 working PET scanners in Ukraine, while the minimum standard in EU countries is one such device per 1 million population,” he said.
