Shmyhal discussed cooperation priorities and needs of Ukraine with the World Bank delegation

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal discussed cooperation priorities and Ukraine’s needs with the World Bank delegation led by Executive Director Eugene Ruggenat.

“We appreciate the financial assistance of our partners, in particular the USA, the EU and the IMF. We are going through this year confidently. We are working to make the next year equally predictable and stable. Confiscation of Russian assets can be a contributing factor. The G7 countries will provide $50 billion to Ukraine thanks to the use of Russian sovereign assets frozen in the West. This is only the first step. Our goal is the confiscation of all frozen assets of the Russian Federation”, – wrote Shmyhal in the Telegram channel.

The Prime Minister informed the representatives of the World Bank about the priorities of rapid recovery: energy, critical infrastructure, housing reconstruction, demining and support of small and medium-sized businesses.

“Energy remains a big challenge at the moment. He informed about our steps to build a decentralized energy system and work to increase electricity imports from the EU,” he added.
