The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, met with representatives of the public – volunteers Igor Lachenkov and Serhiy Sternenko, founder of the Dignitas charity fund Lyuba Shipovych, and human rights defender and co-founder of the NGO “Princip” Lyubov Galan.

As reported General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, the meeting was held under the coordination and assistance of Dmytro Lytvyn, communications advisor to the President of Ukraine. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Military Law and Order Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Vitaly Levchenko, and the head of the Main Department of Psychological Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Andriy Martynov.

“We discussed a number of issues that are urgent for the vital activities of all components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Starting from the technological innovations implemented in the military, to the current problems of the consolidation of society around the army. The participants of the conversation agreed that such meetings are useful, given the possibility of a constructive discussion,” the message states.

The General Staff noted that this practice will further contribute to leveling the enemy’s destructive influence on the personnel and Ukrainian society.

In turn, Sternenko is also on Telegram and Facebook reported about the meeting, noting that he “joined in order to personally discuss all the problems that I have been voicing for a long time.”

“I consider it correct to use all opportunities to report directly and how there are problems of the military with whom we work. He brought up the most painful issues, such as the creation of an effective mechanism for changing the place of service (transfer), the need to evaluate the effectiveness of commanders in order to save people as much as possible, and structural and organizational issues,” the volunteer wrote.

In addition, he separately discussed the further development of unmanned systems, in particular for air defense.

“We have great prospects in this. Our country is in an extremely difficult situation right now, and we have to change and interact to survive. We will change or we will die,” said Sternenko.

Earlier, Sternenko stated that he was wanted because of his failure to appear at the Primorye RTCC and SP in Odesa region on a summons, and connected this with his criticism of the army system and calls for reforms for the military.

The Odesa TCC and SP replied that it was acting “exceptionally within the framework of the legislation” and that Sternenko had not reported a number of important details, including the fact that he had already allegedly visited the Primorsky RTCC and SP, where he paid an administrative fine for violating the rules of military accounting. and that he was sent to the military medical commission.

Sternenko, for his part, accused the head of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky that he personally “arranged a hunt for him by the TCC because he wants to take revenge for criticism of the military management system.”

On November 9, the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces responded to Sternenko’s accusations, stressing that they highly value the contribution of volunteers, including Serhiy Sternenko, to the fight against the Russian aggressor, but stressed that the defense of the Motherland is a constitutional duty of Ukrainian citizens, and the decision to mobilize citizens – the prerogative of TCC and SP.
