“Textile-Contact” refused to participate as a resident in the industrial park HEMPY UA

The trade and production group of companies “Textile-Contact” (TK-Group) has given up its intention to participate as a textile resident in the creation of the industrial park (IP) HEMPY UA – a center for the cultivation and processing of industrial hemp, the owner of the group Oleksandr Sokolovskyi said.

“I was among the co-founders of the industrial park, but, unfortunately, I left the project, because both a lot of money and a lot of time are needed,” he said at the Forbes Ukraine Business Breakfast on Wednesday, answering questions from the Interfax-Ukraine agency “.

Sokolovsky noted that the very idea of ​​the development of textile hemp is very interesting, and the future is behind it, taking into account the great demand in the world for hemp fabrics.

“Ukraine also has the climatic conditions for this, and the relevant law has already been adopted, but, unfortunately, “you can’t grasp the immeasurable,” so I left the project,” he said.

As reported, the investment project in which “Textile-Contact” planned to be a textile resident – the creation of the HEMPY UA industrial park – was presented by Soklovsky in January 2023.

The total investment in the project was estimated at EUR 200 million, in particular, the need for investment in textile production was about EUR 25 million.

It was planned to implement the production of industrial hemp fabrics, threads, twine, ropes, primarily tarpaulin, burlap.

“HEMPY UA” private enterprise, the initiator of which was the creation of the Privilena Village Council of the Rivne Region, was included in the Register of Industrial Parks in October 2023.

Its concept envisages that several enterprises for the processing of industrial agricultural crops for the production of textile, light and food industry products will be created on an area of ​​almost 43 hectares.

It is also planned to start the production of construction and furniture materials, bioplastics and energy raw materials.

“Textile-Contact” is the largest trade and production group on the light industry market of Ukraine, founded in 1995. Currently represents a holding uniting the entire range of textile industry services: from raw materials and threads to ready-made solutions for B2B, B2G, B2C clients.

According to her data, more than 1.5 thousand people work at 12 factories of the group, for 2023 she paid UAH 442 million in taxes.
