More than 200 border guards came to donate blood.
The border guards of the separate checkpoint “Kyiv” organized a donor day, during which border guards set a Ukrainian record for the largest amount of blood donated by border guards in one day for wounded brothers.
Blood collection was carried out by employees of the Kyiv Regional Blood Center.
“More than 200 border guards came to donate blood. The record of Ukraine was set at 90 liters of blood. However, even after the record was set, servicemen continued to come up and donate blood,” the press service of the separate checkpoint “Kyiv” reported.
Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine Serhiy Deyneko also joined the event. In 2014, after the second injury, he was also given a transfusion to save his life.
Among the border guards who donated blood were regular donors, as well as defenders of Mariupol, who recently returned from captivity. In particular, lieutenant colonel Oleg Vorona, who was in Russian captivity for seven months, also came to share his blood.
The blood collected today will be used for the needs of wounded soldiers of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The representatives of the “Book of World Records” recorded the event.
