The deputy head of the Federation of Trade Unions is suspected of embezzling 138 million hryvnias, he was arrested

The law enforcement officers reported the suspicion to the deputy head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. According to the investigation, he took a direct part in the illegal alienation of property worth more than 138 million hryvnias.

This is reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation.

According to “Ukrainian Pravda”, we are talking about Volodymyr Sayenko.

The investigation found out that in 2019, the deputy head of the FPU, together with other officials, made a decision on the illegal expropriation in favor of a private enterprise of the building of the state spa health resort in Kyiv. The total cost of the premises amounted to 138.3 million hryvnias, while the hospital, which was not subject to privatization at all, was sold at a lower price.

The official was informed of the suspicion of embezzlement of someone else’s property, abuse of his official position by an official, committed by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy, in particularly large amounts (Part 5, Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The court arrested the official with an alternative in the form of bail in the amount of 124 million hryvnias, and also suspended him from the post of deputy head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine for two months.
