The director of the KMDA department Vozny was charged with not disposing of tires from roadblocks – KMDA

Date:

Representatives of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv handed over a notice of suspicion of official negligence to the director of the Department of Environmental Protection and Adaptation to Climate Change of the KMDA Oleksandr Vozny in the case of cleaning the city of tires at the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion.

As reported on the website of the Kyiv city government on Friday, the city administration considers this a continuation of the discrediting of the capital’s government and political pressure. “The discrediting of the capital’s authorities continues: the director of the Department of Environmental Protection was served with suspicion in the case of cleaning the city of stray waste that was formed at the beginning of the full-scale invasion… The case concerns the events of 2022 and is connected with the cleaning of the city territory from the tires that were left at the beginning of the full-scale invasion massively transported to checkpoints for their equipment”, – is going in the message.

As the department stated, when the need for tires at roadblocks was no longer there, the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the KMDA (at that time it was the name of the structural division) received an order to clean the city’s territories of stray waste. The contractor was identified through the Prozorro system. A contract was concluded with the winner of the tender, which provided for the removal, storage and processing of tires.

“Tyres were promptly removed from the storage areas, and video recording was made to confirm the completion of the work. From the moment the stray waste arrived at the contractor, it had a very specific owner who had to dispose of it. At the same time, the claim of law enforcement agencies is that the Office did not control the process of tire disposal, although this is the responsibility of the contractor,” the Department of Environmental Protection explains the situation.

The Director of the Department will prove the groundlessness of the accusation in court, the KMDA claims. “Despite the obvious political pressure, the Department of Environmental Protection and Adaptation to Climate Change of the KMDA is interested in a transparent and impartial investigation and is ready to cooperate with law enforcement agencies,” the message emphasizes.
