The Expirenza by mono mobile application can be extended to the field of services – Gorokhovskyi

Date:

The mobile application, which allows you to read the menu and pay in food establishments using a QR code, can be expanded to the entire field of services, said the co-founder of monobank Oleg Horohovskyi.

“We created this service primarily for the catering industry, but the selection of services by QR code and subsequent payment can be applied in other areas, for example, in a spa or a hair salon, it just needs to be adapted somewhat to their specifics,” Horokhovskyi said at the restaurant innovation conference SALT in Kyiv on Monday.

According to Expirenza by mono analytics, the number of restaurants connected to the platform has more than doubled since the start of the war, from 7,420 in January 2022 to 16,400 in September 2024. Leading the growth in the number of establishments, guests and spending is Yaremche, where the number of establishments increased by 161% from 2021 to 2024, served 217% more guests, and increased revenue by 369%. The top five also includes Kamianets-Podilskyi, Mukachevo, Uzhhorod and Ivano-Frankivsk.

As expected, the number of establishments and guests in the front-line cities decreased. The biggest drop is in Kherson, where the number of establishments decreased by 78%, the number of guests served by 81%, and revenue by 87%. The top five cities where activity has decreased the most are Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv.

The average check in general across the country increased from UAH 522 in 2021 to UAH 643 in 2024. As of September 2024, the average check in a cafe/fast food was 135 UAH, for delivery 815 UAH.

Wartime trends – a significant number of new catering establishments are opening outside the major cities, and more women than men are paying the bills. If in 2021 59% of checks were paid by men, then 51% of checks in September 2024 were paid by women.
