The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) together with the Center for Economic Strategy (CES) and the Vienna Institute for International Economic Research (wiiw) invite you to join the expert discussion on the topic:Who are Ukrainian migrants and how do they affect the economy of EU countries?“. The event will take place from 17:00 to 19:00 on February 22, 2023 in an online format.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, millions of Ukrainians have been forced to leave the country. The event will discuss who exactly went abroad, how Ukrainians influence the economy of EU countries and what will motivate them to return home.
In particular, the speech of the Chairman of the NBU is expected Andriy Pishnyi with an introductory speech, as well as a presentation of research:
- “Ukrainian migrants: who are they, where are they from and how to return them?”, speaker – Daria Mykhailyshynadviser to the Central Committee of the Central Committee of Ukraine, postgraduate student at the University of Bologna;
- “How did the wave of forced migration from Ukraine affect the economy of the EU countries?”, the speaker – Olga Bondarenkochief economist of the Department of Monetary Policy and Economic Analysis of the NBU.
After the research presentation, there will be an expert discussion with the participation of a wiiw economist Marina Tverdostupdirector of the Institute of Demography and Social Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Ella LibanovaDeputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization Oleksiy Soboleva and Deputy Chairman of the NBU Serhii Nikolaychuk. The moderator of the event is the director of the CES Hleb Vyshlinskyi.
The main language of the event is Ukrainian. At the same time, simultaneous translation into English is provided.
