Two civilians of the Bakhmut district of the Donetsk region were killed and two were wounded as a result of shelling by the Russian occupiers over the past day, the head of the Donetsk regional administration, Vadym Filashkin, said.
“Bakhmut district. In Toretsk, 1 person died and 1 was injured, 2 houses were damaged. In the Chasovoyarsk community, 1 person died, 6 private houses, 2 high-rise buildings, 2 industrial buildings and 2 non-residential buildings were damaged. In Siversk, a person was injured, a house was damaged”, – wrote Filashkin as of the morning of August 17.
In other areas of the Donetsk region, there are no casualties or damage, but there is destruction. In particular, in the Kurakhovo Pokrovsky district, numerous private houses and high-rise buildings were damaged as a result of shelling, and a gas station was damaged in Hirnik. A gas pipeline was damaged in the Mykolaiv community of the Kramatorsk district, and three houses were damaged in the Markovo community of the Kostiantyniv community.
In total, according to Filashkin, the Russians shelled populated areas of the Donetsk region 14 times during the day. 2,610 people, including 325 children, were evacuated from the front line.
