There are many recipes for delicate salad and everyone prepares it in their own way. I am pleased to present to your attention one of these culinary masterpieces. The taste, aroma and texture of the dish that we will prepare today fully justifies its name. We are preparing a “Tender” salad – a great decoration for any festive table. A hearty salad that does not require long preparation and some refined ingredients will conquer your heart and become a frequent guest in your home!

Ingredients for the preparation of “Gentle” salad:

  1. Hard-boiled chicken eggs – 5 pieces
  2. Pitted olives – 300 grams (1 jar)
  3. Hard cheese – 200 grams
  4. Airy white bread – 250 grams
  5. Mayonnaise – 250 grams (1 cup)

Preparation of salad “Gentle”.

Step 1: make croutons

The salad is prepared ridiculously fast in just 30 minutes, but like any salad, it will still need some time to stand in the refrigerator and soak. To begin with, turn on the oven and heat it up to 65-70 degrees.

Cut on a cutting board with a knife 250 grams of bread crusts Here I want to note that the bread for this type of salad should be airy and if it is a little not fresh, it is not a problem, since the crackers prepared from it will still soften in the salad, soaking in mayonnaise. Cut the crusted bread into small cubes 1 by 1 centimeter and place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

We put the bread on the baking sheet so that there is a small distance between the cubes, so that the croutons are fried quickly, evenly and are not overdried. We put the tray with bread in the oven 7-10 minutes and periodically stir the cubes with a kitchen spatula, preventing them from becoming covered with a dark crust. Ready-made croutons are light beige in color, with a light, slightly hard crust and soft inside.


Step 2: boil the eggs.

Now let’s start preparing chicken eggs. We clean them from the shell, so that there are no small fragments. Separate the white from the yolk and place in separate deep plates. Pour into a plate with yolks 250 grams of mayonnaise and knead the ingredients to a homogeneous mass.

We put the proteins on a cutting board, cut them into small cubes with a knife 7 millimeters in diameter and transfer back to the plate.


Step 3: chop the olives and prepare the cheese

Open the jar with olives and drain the marinade from it, put the olives on a cutting board, cut them into rings with a knife and put them in a deep bowl. Approximate thickness of the rings up to 5 millimeters.

Now the cheese. Each hard cheese has a hard, corrugated crust, which must be cut with a knife. Grate the prepared cheese on a fine grater directly into a bowl with chopped olives.


Step 4: mix the ingredients

The final touch! Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl, pour mayonnaise mixed with boiled egg yolks, and mix the salad with a tablespoon. We do not add salt, as the cheese and olives are already salted. Now, in order for the croutons to soak in and the salad to be even tastier, you need to let it stand in the refrigerator for approx 1.5 – 2 hours. Ahead of you is a tasting!


Step 5: serve the “Tender” salad

“Delicate” salad is served cold on a plate. If you prepared this salad for a holiday, you can serve it in a salad bowl or on a flat, round or oval dish, decorating it with olives or sprigs of parsley and dill. You can spread the salad in portions on plates or bowls. This type of salad can be a side dish for stewed or fried meat. This dish goes well with pork, chicken and turkey meat. You can drink this delicate salad with a light white semi-sweet wine. Easy, tender and tasty!

– Eggs are hard-boiled for 10 to 12 minutes.

– In order for chicken eggs not to burst during cooking and keep their shape, they should be boiled in salted water with the addition of vinegar.

– In order to remove the shell from the eggs well during cleaning, they must be cooled in cold water.

– If there are small pieces of shell left on the eggs after cleaning, wash them under running water and dry them with paper kitchen towels.

– If you don’t like white bread, you can make croutons from brown bread.

– Mayonnaise in this type of salad can be replaced with homemade or regular sour cream, and sour milk yogurt goes well with this type of salad.

– Hard Russian cheese, you can replace it with any other types of cheese, according to your taste. It can be such cheeses as hard processed cheese, cheese.

– You can also add olives, fresh cucumber, apples to this salad, the combination of these ingredients is very pleasant to the taste.

– Mayonnaise with egg yolks can be whipped using a blender, especially if you are making a salad for a large number of people and you need to prepare it quickly.

– Sometimes boiled chicken is added to this type of salad. But remember that the meat for the Nizhny salad should be soft without coarse fibers and veins. Fillet or breast is perfect
