The Russian occupiers are preparing for an offensive in a new direction – ISW

Date:

The Russian occupiers are beginning to concentrate their forces in one more direction. Offensive actions are possible there. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) informed UNN about this.

We are talking about the territory near the Zolochiv direction. The Russians are preparing for an offensive to the northwest of the city of Kharkiv.

The head of the Kharkiv OV Oleg Synegubov said that Ukrainian officials are afraid of a possible activation of Russian troops in the Zolochiv direction. Therefore, the behavior of the Rashists is being monitored now.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported this earlier. On May 26, the President of Ukraine noted that Russian troops are preparing for new offensive actions. They are concentrating a group of unspecified numbers near the border with Ukraine 90 km northwest of Kharkiv, which may allow Russian troops to launch an offensive in the Zolochiv direction.

According to ISW analysts, the concentration of Rashist troops near the Zolochiv direction and possible offensive actions in the specified area are being carried out to further consolidate and drag the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to a wider front in the northern part of the Kharkiv region.

It also became known that the Russian army advanced in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, in particular near Chasovoy Yar, Robotino, and Novopokrovsky.

Military experts believe that reinforcements for the Russian military in the Kharkiv region indicate that they are making efforts to withdraw the armed forces from critical areas of the front line in the eastern region and create a “buffer zone” in the north of the Kharkiv region. It can be concluded that they are ready to start the second phase of the offensive in this field.
