The terms of negotiations with the Russian Federation depend on whether Ukraine will be strong, Zelenskyi said

Date:

Negotiations with the Russian Federation are possible under the condition that Ukraine will be strong, if negotiations are held in the conditions we are in now, it is a losing status for Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi believes.

“On the condition that Ukraine will not be alone with the Russian Federation. Under the conditions that Ukraine will be strong. What can be the negotiations just with the killer? If we are talking simply with Putin, simply with a murderer, and we are not strengthened by some important elements in the conditions in which we are now, then this, I believe, is a losing status for Ukraine at the beginning of these negotiations”, – said Zelensky in an interview with “Suspilno” on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Ukrainian Radio.

The President emphasized that the position of Donald Trump is important, as well as America’s attitude towards Ukraine, but the USA should maintain the position of supporting Ukraine in the fact that the Russian Federation is an aggressor.

“America should maintain the position of supporting Ukraine in the fact that Russia is an aggressor. It violated our territorial integrity, sovereignty and international law. And this status should remain,” added the head of the Ukrainian state.

He also emphasized that the strengthening of Ukraine is an element of the Victory Plan and that Ukraine “must be strong in any diplomacy.”
