The trailer of the best Ukrainian feature film according to the version of the 13th Odesa International Film Festival has been released. The tape will tell about an air reconnaissance officer released from Russian captivity, who overcomes the difficulties of a new life.
April 6 a drama will appear on the big screens of Ukrainian cinemas “Butterfly Vision”. Presented official Ukrainian trailer.
The main character of the picture is an aerial scout with the call sign “Butterfly”, who returns from captivity. Her relatives, friends, siblings and lover are waiting for her. But new life brings new challenges.
“Butterfly Vision” — the director’s debut full-length work Maksym Nakonechny. He wrote the script of the film together with the writer and the director Iryna Cilyk (“The earth is blue, like an orange”, “Me and Felix”). The actress starred in the main role Rita Burkovska, known from the film “Parthenon” by Mantas Kvedaravičius. One of the key heroines of the picture was performed by a well-known playwright Natalka Vorozhbyt (screenwriter of “Cyborgs”, screenwriter and director of “Bad Roads”).
The world premiere of “The Vision of a Butterfly” took place at the Cannes Film Festival in the “Special View” program – the second most important section. At the Odesa International Film Festival, which took place in 2022 as part of the Warsaw International Film Festival, the film won the award as “Best Ukrainian Feature Film”. The Ukrainian premiere of the film took place at the sixth Kyiv Critics’ Week.
“Butterfly Vision” was highly praised by film critics. Yes, edition The Hollywood Reporter wrote that the film “instills hope”and the game of Rita Burkovska “very expressive”, Deadline called him “the most timely film in Cannes”a Screen Daily — “strict but convincing”.
