There is no offer from Saudi Arabia for PSG forward Lionel Messi

Date:

Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi has not spoken to Al Hilal and will not consider a move to Saudi Arabia, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

However, there is speculation that the 35-year-old Argentina international has been offered a £245million move to the Middle East.

Messi’s contract expires in the summer, but according to Balague, he is close to finalizing a deal to stay at PSG.

“Proposals [від «Аль-Хілала»] there was no,” says Balage.

“PSG and Messi will arrange a meeting in the next few weeks to finalize a deal that will keep him in Paris.”

Messi helped Argentina win the World Cup for the first time since 1986 in Qatar last month.

After the tournament, he said he plans to continue playing for his country and Balague says he is also determined to win more things in Europe.

“Now his motivation is to stay in Europe,” Balague added.

“He is the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or, he is still in the Champions League, he has big goals after winning the World Cup.

“Not only does it make no sense to approach him with such an offer, it didn’t exist.”

Messi joined PSG from Barcelona in 2021 and made 54 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, scoring 24 goals.
