Ukraine has a clear calendar of meetings and negotiations to bring the country closer to a decision on an invitation to NATO, – Stefanyshyn

Date:

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration – Minister of Justice Olga Stefanishyna states that Ukraine has a clear calendar of meetings and negotiations, which will allow the country to come closer to making a decision on an invitation to NATO.

“Regarding the invitation. We have a clear calendar of meetings and negotiations that will allow us to get closer to making this decision. In particular, a NATO mission is already working in Ukraine this week, which is analyzing the readiness of Ukrainian capabilities, mutual compatibility, progress in the implementation of NATO-related reform programs. There will be a report, there will be an assessment. Accordingly, there will be political meetings at the level of foreign ministers and leaders, which will create a window of opportunity to discuss and make these decisions,” she said on the air of the national telethon.

Stefanyshyn emphasized that the issue of the invitation to NATO is important not only for Ukraine, but also for the allies.

“A country that will become a member of NATO is a country for which it is much more difficult to make any decisions or form any illusory strategies (from the side of the Russian Federation and its allies – IF-U),” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
