In Ukraine, work on a documentary project about the participation of servicemen of the GUR MOU in the air raid on Azovstal, the battle for Snake Island and the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region was completed

“The operations that are briefly covered here: the landing and battle on Zmiiny Island, a powerful counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, in which the Kraken volunteer unit took part, and flights to Azovstal, where army aviation demonstrated miracles of flying skills, penetrating into enemy cells, – they everyone deserves to be immortalized in the history of the war, so that others can learn from this material,” said the author of the series, journalist, soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Artem Shevchenko.
In particular, he noted that three operations in which military intelligence was fully or partially involved formed the basis of the documentaries “Sky” about the events of the spring of 2022, “Sea”, which shows the landing of special forces on the island. Zmeinyi on May 8, as well as “Zemlya” – about an offensive operation in the fall of 2022 in the Kharkiv direction.
“This is a military chronicle, shown truthfully, emotionally, through participants of various levels: the head of the GUR, Major General Kyryl Budanov, and other officials who had a relationship with the operations, and, most importantly, direct participants in the hostilities,” Shevchenko added.
Andriy Yusov, representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Ukraine, noted that each of the mentioned operations remains a point of tension: Fr. Zmiiny was recently bombed, the operation to de-occupy Mariupol and the return of defenders of Ukraine from Russian captivity is still ongoing, and Kupyansk is under attack from the enemy.
“That is why General Budanov supported, they say, people have the right to know. The country and the whole world should be aware of successful operations not only of intelligence, but also of all defense forces – what efforts yield results, what risks are taken by the military – from the moment of conception to the implementation of the operation,” said Yusov.
The author of the films, in particular, expects that the trilogy will soon be shown on the telethon “Edyny Novyny”. The tapes will also be available on the YouTube channel of GUR MOU. The plans include dubbing the movie into English or creating English subtitles.
