About this informs EP

As noted in the publication, seven candidates are participating in the elections, including the current head of state, Milo Djukanovych.

It is reported that the current leader of Montenegro has held various important political positions in the country for the past 30 years.

Djukanovych’s main opponents in Sunday’s elections are:

  • Andrija Mandych, head of the “Democratic Front”, which seeks closer ties with Serbia and Russia,
  • Yakov Milatovych, pro-Western economist and deputy head of the Europe Now movement.

To win in the first round, you need to score more than 50%. Opinion polls indicate a high probability of a second round on April 2.

Opponents accuse Djukanovic and his Democratic Party of Socialists of corruption and ties to organized crime. Djukanovic and his party deny the allegations.
