Personnel changes in the government: the next head of the Ministry of Education became known

At a meeting of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party, personnel changes in the government planned for next week were discussed. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Thus, Shmyhal confirmed the dismissal of Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet. He was appointed to the position in December 2020. The new Minister of Education will be the director of the Small Academy of Sciences and a volunteer of the 95th Brigade of Airborne Assault Troops, Oksen Lisovyi.

Also, Pavlo Ryabikin will be dismissed from the post of Minister of Strategic Industries. Pavlo Ryabikin held the position from November 2021. Now the ministry will be headed by Oleksandr Kamyshin, ex-head of Ukrzaliznytsia, who was chairman of the board until February 27, 2023.

Shmyhal also noted that Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov will take care of a number of other areas, in addition to digitalization. His future position is Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology, and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

Context. Earlier it was reported that the head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet is resigning. Scarlet called on teachers not to bash Putin. Also, educators recently turned to Skarlet due to the fact that the foreign literature curricula for grades 5-9 and 10-11 of general secondary education institutions will selectively present works by Russian authors.
