The famous French designer Thierry Mugler died at the age of 73. This is reported by AFP. The agency quoted Mugler’s agent as saying the death was of “natural causes.” Other details are not disclosed.
Thierry Mugler was born on December 21, 1948 in Strasbourg. Since childhood, he was engaged in dancing and even danced in the corps de ballet of the Rhine Opera. He studied interior design in Strasbourg, and in 1969 he moved to Paris.
Mugler began his career in the fashion world in the 1970s. The first collection, Café de Paris, was released in 1973. He founded the eponymous brand, which gained popularity, in particular, due to women’s suits with corsets, broad shoulders and a narrow waist. In the early 1990s, Mugler released the first Angel perfume in collaboration with the Clarins brand.
In 1997, Mugler sold the rights to use his name to Clarins. In 2002, the designer announced that he was retiring from the world of fashion. After that, he created costumes for Cirque du Soleil and the singer Beyoncé.
